Board of Directors

Annice Tilley
President, Member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Strategic Planning Committee, Health & Wellness Committee and Community Promotion Committee
Member of the Board since 1994

Prior to retirement, Annice, who is a Registered Nurse, was the Director of Emergency Care at the Kirkland and District Hospital for 23 years and a Teaching/Clinical Instructor of Nursing at Northern College. While working in the emergency department, Annice was always impressed by the care and compassion shown by staff towards the individuals we support.  Upon retirement while looking for an organization to get involved with, Annice was approached to join our organization and feels very honoured to be a part of it.

When Annice retired, she adopted the motto “I’d rather burn out than rust out”.  She feels it is important to use what talents and energies you have for your own self-worth and for the betterment of the community we live in.

Sidney Hamden

Sidney Hamden

Director
Member of the Board since 1997

Sid, who is a Certified Technical Director, worked in the electrical field for 9 years and was a teacher for 32 years.  Upon retirement, Sid spearheaded the Literacy Council of North Temiskaming serving as President for 17 years.  In addition to having a major interest in the electrical and mechanical fields, Sid enjoys music and playing his saxophone. Sid has 4 children, who are all in professional fields.

Sid strongly feels that “one” should give back something to their community of residence and to help the underprivileged.  Even though one pays taxes, he or she does benefit from the community.  There would be very few activities for enjoyment, interests, relaxations, etc.  Volunteers are very much needed for our way of life.
